Who wants another book set on Earth 2? Last week CBR had DC Comics Editor-In-Chief Bob Harras and Editorial Director Bobbie Chase answer questions submitted from their forums. The first question very exciting.

Josie Campbell: Kicking off our final Fan Question segment is user Vanityman who asks, “Any plans for another book set on Earth 2?”
Bobbie Chase: Yes! [Laughs]
Bob Harras: What James and Nicola have built, it’s a world, quite literally. They’ve got so many amazing storylines there and you’re going to see some intriguing twists coming up in the Annual. We are thinking about, “What can we do next with Earth 2?”
Is that something Vanityman will see sometime in the near future?
Harras: With all these things I say, be patient, and keep watching!

The article included this caption below the image of the cover of Earth 2 Annual #1.

Fans clamoring for more “Earth 2” are encouraged to look to the 2013 Annual

I wonder if the Earth 2 Batman will be getting a new book. Or will the book be about the Atom and his new team of heroes. Either way I am onboard. Earth 2 Annual #1 is on sale May 29, 2013.

DC Comics is having a four-day sale on Justice League books to celebrate the upcoming release of Injustice: Gods Among Us video game. DC sales seem few and far between. Here are my thoughts on this one.
JLA (1997-2006) #1-9I highly recommend these books penned by Grant Morrison. They are great Justice League stories filled with some perfect character moments. For JSA fans might want to check out issue #5 to see Damage the son of the golden age Atom botch his JLA try out.
Identity Crisis #1-7I really enjoyed the first half of this series but didn’t care for the end as much. Brad Meltzer sets up this story as a super-hero murder mystery but unless the reader has knowledge of 1960/70s comics and beyond it’s not a mystery the reader can solve (even when looking back on the full seven issues. The art by Rags Morales is gorgeous and Meltzer does give us some great moments. I love the super-hero crime scene he sets up. Former JSA members Hawkman and Black Canary are front and center in this story. The Justice Society, The Ray, Dr. Mid-Nite, and Sir Justin, The Shining Knightas get some great and sometimes pivital moments.
Justice League of America (2006-2001) #1-7I had mixed feelings on Brad Meltzer’s take on the Justice League. I did really like his attempt to grow the character of Red Tornado and had mixed feelings on his use of Solomon Grundy. These issues include JSA members Black Canary, Red Tornado, and Hawkgirl. This also leads into a great crosssover with the Justice Society of America in that series.
Justice League (2011-)This is Geoff Johns and Jim Lee’s introduction to the post-Flashpoint, New 52 DC Universe. This story shows how the main DC Universe dealt with the attack from Apokolips and it compliments the first issue of Earth 2 very nicely.
Injustice #1I read this first issue and it is great.

I read this first issue and it is great.

The collected hardcover of Earth 2 just hit the shelves this week and DC Comics just have everyone 5.2 reasons to pick it up.

Last week James Robinson recorded an epic 3 hour podcast with the folks over at Comic Vine. They talked about just about everything under the sun, including Earth 2. An interesting bit of information is we will see Wildcat in the arc that follows the current Doctor Fate story. Above are to mentions of Ted Grant before in Earth 2 #2 and #5 by James Robinson and Nicola Scott.

This week’s episode of Word Balloon, John Siuntres had a conversation with James Robinson about Earth 2. He also talks to Dan Jurgens, Robbi Rodgriguez, and Ryan Browne. I highly suggest listening. Word Balloon is one of my favorite podcasts and has been for years. John really does some great in depth interviews.

Review: Earth 2 #4

Well this review is waaaaaay late. But I really liked this issue. It is becoming the book I hoped it would be. I still found the Flash and Hawkgirl’s dialogue a little forced but other than that I think the dialogue was spot on.

The introduction of the Atom was great. I love both his and Grundy’s design. It’s a pretty standard issue with heroes getting together. Beyond the jump I get into more detail.

Brett Booth has posted his design for Earth 2 Atom. And James Robinson had something to say on the topic of the Atom on Twitter as well:

So, Earth 2 #4 is out tomorrow. I hope you like this new version of the E2 Atom. While being different in many ways from the GA version —

— Much like with Jay and Alan, I’ve tried to maintain the intrinsic feel of who that character is/was. Let me know if I pulled it off.
